Truth is not Negotiable

1 Timothy 1:1-11

I. Have confidence in your salvation _^(vv.1-2)

• Keep teaching sound doctrine
  • 1 Timothy 1:1-2
• By not allowing false teaching
  • 1 Timothy 1:3
• By not getting distracted by non-essential, pointless discussion

II. Godly teaching is motivated by love _^(vv.5-7)

• Guard your heart, conscience and faith
  • 1 Timothy 1:5
• Provides for our victory
  • 1 Timothy 1:6
• God is faithful in forgiving our sins
  • 1 Timothy 1:7

III. We are to use the law properly _^(vv.8-11)

• If used properly the law is good
• The law is made for the unrighteous not the righteous
• The law condemns unrighteous acts
• The law brings conviction for sin
• Sound doctrine conforms to the gospel
