I. The Priority of Prayer

I Timothy 2:1
  • Pray first of all.
  • Pray without ceasing.
  • Supplications means to make a request.
  • Prayers are the communication and communion with God.
  • Intercession is prayer on behalf of others.
  • Thanksgiving looks back with appreciation for what God has done and also looks forward in anticipation of what God will do.

II. Prayer Advances the Gospel

III. Pray for Everyone because the Gospel is for All

IV. Prayer is the ultimate form of submission to a sovereign God

  • There is only God.
  • There is only one mediator between God and men.
  • Jesus gave himself as a ransom for all men.

V. Praying for all people is a fulfillment of a gospel centered life
